My wife and I were adopted by our cat 20 years ago. She was full grown then so we really have no idea how old she is... we're guessing 22+. She's doesn't do much any more other than eat and sleep and apparently has forgotten what a cat box is for, but we lover her all the same and will care for her for what ever time she has left.
bravo!

well done. i'm a fan of cat rescue and all our cats have been rescued in one way or another - the most recent was a semi-feral that someone had dumped on the campus where i work. i trapped him, brought him home and, over the course of many months, he has come to trust us and be the sweetest cat one could hope for. since i love to show him off, here he is: http://www.catster.com/pet_page.php?i=178682

Awww, I brought a couple cats into my home from a rescue agency almost 3 years ago and they've been such a joy (and a trial!). I was really worried at first that they might be feral - even here in New York City it's common to see feral cats everywhere, such as my neighbor's backyard where there's a colony of five or six! One of mine is particularly skittish even around me still, but both have been such great friends to me (if not each other - that's a whole 'nother battle) I can't imagine being without them. They're about four years old now.
@Ronald
22 years! That's amazingly long. I know it was four years ago but I hope she was a great joy to you.
Here's hoping you have many years with your cats.
